Get Involved

Health Professionals

Supporting LLTF fundraising activities and campaigns ensures we can continue to provide assistance to families with a premature or sick baby.

There are many ways health professional can get involved including coordinating activities in your hospital unit or getting a team together for a LLTF event such as Walk for Prems. Here are just a few activities we have planned this year.

Walk for Prems
October

Each year we ask health professionals to support our signature event, Walk for Prems. LLTF run nine Walk for Prems events across Australia with a virtual option also available so no-one misses out.

For health professionals this event offers you a great opportunity to connect with families who have now transitioned home. Families love seeing their health professionals at events and reminiscing about their time together caring for their baby.

Picnic for Prems
April – May

Having a premmie or sick baby is often a stressful experience which can take an emotional, psychological and even a financial toll on families.

That’s why we’re asking you to roll out your picnic blanket, bring your crew together and put on a spread – all in an effort to raise awareness and funds for families on this life-changing journey.

Every dollar raised will make a difference by allowing Life’s Little Treasures Foundation to continue providing the products and services needed to support these families during their hospital stay right through to when they transition home.

Little Readers Read-a-thon
September

NIDCAP Australasia in partnership with Life’s Little Treasures Foundation coordinate the Little Readers Read-a-thon in September each year.

This program is a great way to get parents reading to their babies to help with development and bonding. Minutes read and number of books are counted with winning hospitals receiving great book prizes.

We are inviting all neonatal units across Australia to participate and encourage families to read to their babies. We also welcome international participation!

World Prematurity Day
17 November

Globally, 15 million babies are born premature each year. For the families of these babies, it can be a very challenging and often life-changing journey that can have a long lasting impact.

While this day is about informing and educating the wider community, it is also about celebrating the little treasures within our own community who have graduated from neonatal units to eventually go home with their families. On this day we also remember those families whose babies have not survived being born prematurely.

“We want to support LLTF so they can continue providing services to our families. It’s a great way to come together outside work and support a great organisation and the families we have looked after along the way. “
